San Diego Clippers Acquire Izaiah Brockington from the Birmingham Squadron

On March 3rd, the San Diego Clippers acquired guard Izaiah Brockington from the Birmingham Squadron.

Brockington, 25, has appeared in 23 games for the Birmingham Squadron in the 2024-25 season, averaging 15.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 33.9 minutes per game. He has scored in double figures in 16 games, including in each of his last ten contests. Brockington scored a career-high 34 points against the Oklahoma City Blue during the Tip-Off Tournament on November 17, 2024.

Brockington originally joined the Birmingham Squadron on March 14, 2023, and appeared in two regular-season games that season. He returned to the Squadron for the 2023-24 season, where he played in 33 games, averaging 12.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 30.8 minutes per game. On March 3, 2024, he signed a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans and appeared in one game. Brockington was the longest-tenured member of the Squadron.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Brockington played collegiate basketball at St. Bonaventure (2017-18), Penn State (2019-2021), and Iowa State (2021-2022). In his senior season, he started all 35 games for Iowa State, averaging 16.9 points and 6.8 rebounds. He ranked among the top four in the Big 12 in both scoring and rebounding and earned Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors along with a First-Team All-Big 12 selection.
